 At Hummingbird Helpers, we understand the unique challenges families face raising children with high needs. Our founders started this company from a place of personal experience and deep compassion. As the adoptive parents of neurodiverse children who have experienced significant trauma and exhibit complex behavioral needs at Hummingbird Helpers, we know firsthand the struggles of finding high-quality respite and child care for these children​​​​​​.

The journeys of the families we partner with have not been easy. We serve families of children with diagnoses including PTSD, ADHD, Autism, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Down syndrome, and Reactive Attachment Disorder, among others. At Hummingbird Helpers, we understand that these children need specialized care that goes beyond what traditional childcare services can offer​​​​​​. We know firsthand the frustrations of finding effective childcare providers for neurodiverse children, from dealing with multiple babysitters who can’t manage a child’s needs to ensuring that care is trauma-informed and developmentally appropriate.
